Updating the Database and Access Modes

You can update the database and access modes of a DB system.

Note

If the DB system has HeatWave cluster enabled, you cannot set the database mode to read-only.
Note

If the DB system has REST enabled, you cannot set the database mode to read-only or set the access mode to administrators only.

Using the Console

You can update the database and access modes of a DB system.

Do the following to update the database and access modes of a DB system:

  1. Open the navigation menu, and select Databases, and under HeatWave MySQL, select DB systems.
  2. Select the name of the DB system to open the DB system details page.
  3. Under the Management section, select the Edit link adjacent to the database mode or access mode.
  4. In the Update database and access modes dialog box:
    • Select the database mode if required.
      Note

      You cannot select read-only database mode if the DB system has REST enabled or a HeatWave cluster attached to it.
    • Select the access mode if required.
      Note

      You cannot select administrators only access mode if the DB system has REST enabled.
  5. Select Save changes.
