Java Releases

The Java releases page lists all publicly available Oracle Java runtime releases in the last two years. It also provides End of Support Life (EOSL) data of supported versions along with BPRs associated with last three update releases.

Use the Search and Filter text field to refine your search.

You can customize the table columns by using the Manage columns icon.

The releases in the Java release table are grouped by main Java version and ordered by release date. It lists the releases of the last two years for both supported and non-supported versions, including the current releases.

The table presents the following information:

  • Month: lists the month and year of feature and CPU release. Current releases are indicated by 'Current' label next to the month. Rest are archived releases.
  • Type: corresponding release type such as Feature and CPU.
  • JDK releases: The JDK releases from the past two years, including both supported and non-supported versions, along with LTS releases are presented as column headings. The heading also displays end of life date for the supported versions.

The release table provides links to CPU, Feature, and BPR releases in the corresponding table cell, for both current and archived versions. It's recommended to use the current releases as they include the latest security vulnerability fixes.

The non-current (archived) releases in the table are provided to help developers debug issues in older systems. They are not updated with the latest security patches and are not recommended for use in production.

BPRs of a release are indicated by 'BPR available' label next to the release version. It's not necessary for all releases to have associated BPRs, whose count may vary from release to release. The Java releases page provide BPRs for the three latest CPU release cycles.

In the Items per page field, choose 10, 20, 50, or 100 items to display. Select the header of a column to sort the list based on the title of the column.

When you click the links of Feature and CPU releases, you'll be redirected to the Java Release Details page. This page provides complete details about the release along with download links.
