Monitor Patch Operations
Monitor patch operations that have been submitted to Patch Management.
Monitor and Review
To review submitted patch operations navigate to the Patch Operations tab in the main Patch Management screen. A table with all submitted patch operations is displayed. Filter by Status (successful, failed, or in progress), date range (From and To), or by entering the Operation Name.
Click on the Operation Name you wish to review to view an in-depth analysis. In the Patch Operation screen, click on the specific Tasks to view details of each task (deploy software, update, and migrate listener). Additionally you can further zoom into your review analysis by clicking on each individual step within the task to view its details.
Troubleshoot Operations
Should an issue arise during or after the patch task, you can perform the following troubleshooting tasks:
- Abort: A Patch Operation or any individual patch task can be aborted, this will terminate the patch task and cannot be resumed.
Note
A rollback task must be performed after an abort. - Retry: This will retry the patching task, or patching tasks which have failed.
- Rollback: Aborted or failed tasks within the Patch Operation can be rolled back to their previous state. There are three types of rollback based on each individual task of the Patch Operation:
- Rollback Home: This will clean up the Oracle home used during the deploy task.
- Rollback Listener: Restores the listener back to run from the previous Oracle home.
- Rollback Database: Switches the database back to the previous Oracle home it was running from.
- Retry failed deployments
- Abort software deployments
- Rollback deployments
