Enable or Disable Backup Replication for an Existing Cross-Region Standby

You can enable or disable backup replication on a Autonomous Data Guard cross-region standby.

To enable or disable backup replication for an existing cross-region Autonomous Data Guard standby:

  1. On the Autonomous Database detail page select the Disaster recovery tab.
  2. In a row that lists a cross-region standby, click Actions and in the menu select Update disaster recovery.
  3. Switch on or off the toggle to enable backup replication.
    1. If cross-region backup replication is disabled, switch Enable cross-region backup replication to disaster recovery peer on to enable the option.
    2. If cross-region backup replication is enabled, switch Enable cross-region backup replication to disaster recovery peer off disable the option.
  4. Click Submit.

The Autonomous Database lifecycle state banner changes to Updating.

If you switch on the Enable cross-region backup replication to disaster recovery peer toggle, replicating the backups to the remote region can take between several minutes and several hours, depending on the size of the backups. After backups are replicated, on the peer's Autonomous Database details page, the Backups tab shows the list of replicated backups.
