Enable Overage Billing for AIDP Units
(From September 30, 2026) Oracle Analytics Cloud use AI Data Platform (AIDP) Units to govern AI token consumption through model-based usage thresholds. Customers exceeding these thresholds may purchase additional AIDP Units, opt in to usage-based billing for AIDP Units consumed, or switch to a free LLM option. To allow AIDP Unit overage charges, you must configure an additional security policy on the compartment that hosts your Oracle Analytics Cloud instance. This policy allows Oracle Analytics Cloud users continue to use Generative AI after the monthly AIDP Unit allowance is exhausted. Oracle bills only for the AIDP Units that exceed your monthly allowance.
After you authorize AIDP Unit overage, administrators can use the Generative AI page in Oracle Analytics Cloud to configure overage parameters, overage notifications, and restrict overage usage. See Configure AIDP Unit Terms and Billing Settings and Configure AIDP Unit Usage Threshold Email Alerts.
For Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI pricing information, see: OCI Price List
Oracle Analytics Cloud provides AIDP Unit usage visibility, configurable budget limits, alerts, and model cost controls. While governance capabilities became available in the May 2026 update, overage charges will not begin until on or after September 30, 2026, to allow customers time to evaluate usage patterns and available options.
