Settings in Fleet Application Management

Configure the frequency of software discovery on resources, find information about the service's version, and an option to opt out of Fleet Application Management.

Perform the following tasks to change the settings:
  • Auto-discovery frequency (hours): Configure the frequency of software discovery on resources.

    Fleet Application Management prepares a fleet by connecting to the fleet resources to discover product targets after you create a fleet and successfully validate it. The validation confirms that Fleet Application Management meets all maintenance prerequisites. For maintenance prerequisites, see Validating a Fleet.

    You can configure the target discovery frequency in two specific situations to ensure timely updates on reporting:

    • Trigger an on-demand fleet discovery if you have validated the fleet at least once.
    • Instead of manually starting discovery each time based on your needs, allow Fleet Application Management to perform this task regularly.
  • Version: View the version of Fleet Application Management.
  • Disable: Opt out of Fleet Application Management.
    1. Open the navigation menu  and select Observability & Management. Under Fleet Application Management, select Administration.
    2. Under Administration (on the left side of the page), select Settings.
    3. To configure the frequency of software discovery on fleets, under General settings, select Edit, enter or select the frequency in hours for Auto-discovery frequency, and then select Save changes.
    4. To find the version of Fleet Application Management that you're using, verify the version next to Version.
    5. To opt out of Fleet Application Management after onboarding, select Disable.
      Important

      This action cleans up all data related to Fleet Application Management and you can't recover it.

  • Use the oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin onboarding manage-settings command and required parameters to configure the target discovery frequency for a fleet or opt out of the service:

    oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin onboarding manage-settings --onboarding-id <onboarding_OCID> [OPTIONS]

  • Run the ManageSettings operation to configure the target discovery frequency for a fleet or opt out of the service.
