Environments in Fleet Application Management

Manage all environment types in Fleet Application Management. You use environment types to prioritize resources based on the implementation phase of the applications hosted by them.

Depending on the size of your business user base and the software lifecycle standards followed within your organization, applications (whether developed in-house or by a partner) go through various prioritization phases such as development, testing, and production. These phases correspond to the application's maturity level and its readiness for going live. As applications are promoted from one environment to another, each environment is labeled accordingly.

In these instances, you might want the flexibility to manage the applications differently based on their lifecycle. To accommodate this, you can configure Fleet Application Management to recognize and support the specific types of environments you want to add in addition to the ones that Fleet Application Management provides.

Apart from the custom environment types that you can define, Fleet Application Management defines environment types such as development, production, stage, and test. These environment types are marked as Oracle defined. You can't modify or delete these environment types. They're available for selection when you're creating a fleet.
