Creating a Lifecycle Operation

Create a custom lifecycle operation in Fleet Application Management. When you create a lifecycle operation, it's automatically assigned an active status.

Some examples of custom lifecycle operation can be:

Optimizing database performance: Collect database statistics and optimize query performance to improve database performance and reduce latency.
Automating routine maintenance tasks: Bounce (shut and restart) the Oracle Database to address particular issues, after applying patches, or as a maintenance activity.

1. On the Lifecycle operations list page, select Create lifecycle operation. If you need help finding the list page, see Listing Lifecycle Operations.
2. Enter the following information:
  
  Lifecycle operation name: Enter a unique name for the lifecycle operation name. Avoid entering confidential information.
  
  Create in compartment: Select the compartment where you want the lifecycle operation to be in.
3. Select Create.
  The lifecycle operation is created and is available for selection when you create a runbook.
Use the oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin platform-configuration create-platform-configuration-lifecycle-operation-config-category-details command and required parameters to create a lifecycle operation:
oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin platform-configuration create-platform-configuration-lifecycle-operation-config-category-details --compartment-id <compartment_OCID> --display-name <text> [OPTIONS]
