Updating an Alarm Configuration

Update thresholds or change the status of alarm notifications in Control Center. Changes take effect in the next polling cycle.

Before You Begin

To update an alarm configuration:
1. On the Alarm notifications list page, find the alarm you want to update. If you need help finding the Alarm notifications list page, see Listing Alarms.
2. From the Actions menu (three dots) for that alarm, select Update alarm.
3. Modify the threshold or change the status of notifications to enable or disable them.
  
  Other fields such as shape or namespace for a Compute resource cannot be updated because of business requirements.
4. Select Save changes.
The updates take effect at the start of the next weekly polling cycle.
Use the oci demand-signal occ-metric-alarm update command and required parameters to o update an existing alarm with new or modified configuration details:
```
oci demand-signal occ-metric-alarm update --occ-metric-alarm-id <metric-alarm_OCID> [OPTIONS]
```
