Release 7.2.1

Discover new features and enhancements in release 7.2.1 of Oracle WebRTC Session Controller.

Overview

This update release of WebRTC Session Controller delivers compatibility with an updated version of Oracle WebLogic Server (12c [12.2.1.3]) and with an updated version of Oracle Communications Converged Application Server (7.1), enhanced security, and many important bug fixes.

About Installation and Upgrade

To install this version of WebRTC Session Controller, you must perform a complete installation. It's not possible to upgrade an old release of WebRTC Session Controller to the new.

Install WSC using wsc_generic.jar, which comes bundled with Weblogic 12.2.1.3.0, Coherence, and OCCAS 7.1. After installation, it will apply the following patches automatically:
  • WLS Patch Set - 30965714
  • Coherence Patch set - 28173552
  • OCCAS Patch set -31543727

The following table lists the compatible platform and operating system combinations for installing WebRTC Session Controller.

Note:

Tested platforms are Bare Metal (X8-2 Server), Oracle VM 4.4.4, VMWare ESXi 6.7u3, Virtual Box 5.2.12, KVM of Oracle Linux 7.6, 7.7, 7.8.

Note:

Browsers on mobile platforms are not supported.

Security Enhancements

All third-party components and libraries are updated to the latest versions to ensure up-to-date security and functionality.

Bug Fixes

This release of WebRTC Session Controller resolves bugs and other customer issues. Some notable fixes include:
  • #27782284 - Implmented ICE restart to transition cellular/wifi call handoffs.

  • #30201473 - Support for m= line format "UDP/DTLS/SCTP" used by Chrome version 76 and later.

  • #31324399 - Added support DTLS1.0/1.2.

  • #27764827 - Fixes display of HA state in the Web UI.

  • #29270271 - Fixes stray characters in local SNMP logs.

Known Issues

The following are known issues in this release.
  • #28384852 - Call fails when page is reloaded on Caller Safari for Safari2iOS
  • #28397674 - Register failure during iOS2Safari page reload on Safari for DataChannel
  • #31604575 - Low volume when making a call from iOS to Android device
  • #31236403 - Failure to execute an invocable object
