Before you begin
Display or create a view, as explained in Display views.

When you create a chart, it is created with default visual and control properties. For example:
You can also set additional properties that control scaling behavior and thresholds to be used for highlighting metrics whose values fall outside a given range, or change the default display properties of individual metrics in a chart.
To change one or more of these properties for a chart:
You can also change a metric's name, or other display characteristics, by using the metric legend menu. For more information, see Customize metric display properties.
The Chart Properties dialog box is displayed.
Note: If you set the background color to black or a very dark color, you will not be able to see the chart name.
Result
The changes you make to an individual chart are persisted in the data archive so that they will be available the next time you launch the Monitoring Dashboard and display this chart. For more information about charts in the Monitoring Dashboard, see The Parts of a Chart.
