Setting the Timeout on a Remote Portlet

Occasionally, a remote portlet that you are consumig will encounter some kind of retrieval or rendering problem that can severly affect your application’s ability to surface it. To avoid delays caused by remote portlets without affecting your local portlets, you can set the timeout limit for an individual portlet. To do so,m use this procedure:

  1. Ensure that WebLogic Workshop is running and the remote portlet for which you want to set the timeout is displayed:

  2. In the Proxy Portlet Properties Editor, under Proxy Portlet Properties, locate and highlight Connection Timeout.

  3. Enter a timeout value, in miliseconds.
