My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition allows enterprise customers to seamlessly blend more than 100 familiar My Yahoo! modules into their corporate portals. Dynamic modules draw on Yahoo!'s 2,700 content sources from 25 regions in 13 languages, and include content and tools such as Headline News, Company News, Stock Portfolios, Market Summary, Weather, Sports, Maps, Travel, Notepad, Calendar, Package Tracker and much more.

As a BEA customer, you may sign up for a trial period to use the My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition. Once you have an account with Yahoo for My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition you can create portlets instantly for specific modules.

Yahoo Modules that are Preconfigured as Portlets

The following Yahoo! Enterprise Edition portlets are pre-configured in the sample portal application Sample Portal. You can easily create additional Portlets that leverage any of the 100+ Yahoo Modules by creating and configuring new portlets. You can copy these into your own portal Web projects and use them in your new portals.

How to Use My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition Portlets in Your Portals

  1. Create a portal application. Make sure you create a Portal Application and add a Portal Web Project to it.
  2. Follow the procedures in Setting up My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition.
  3. Open your portal file and navigate the page where you want the portlets to appear.
  4. In the Data Palette window, drag the portlets onto the appropriate page placeholders.
  5. In the Property Editor window, set any relevant properties.
  6. Save the portal file.
  7. View your portal with the WebLogic Test Browser or with your default browser.

When users log in for the first time to a portal desktop that contains My Yahoo! Enterprise Edition portlets, they are prompted to link to their existing Yahoo! accounts.
