Configure general queue parameters

Before you begin

After you create a queue, you can define general property values, such as selecting a destination key for sorting messages as they arrive on the queue, or a selecting JMS template if you are using one to configure properties for multiple queues.

To configure general values for a queue:

If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
In the Administration Console, navigate to the queue resource that you want to configure:
- Navigate to JMS Resources in System Modules
- Navigate to JMS resources in an application module
On the Configuration: General page:
1. In JNDI Name, enter a name for accessing the queue within the JNDI namespace.
2. In Template, select a pre-configured JMS template from which the queue will inherit its default property values.
3. In Destination Keys, select a pre-configured destination sort key for sorting the messages that arrive on the queue by moving a destination key from the Availble column into the Chosen column.

Save your changes:
- Save Changes to JMS Resources in System Modules
- Save changes to JMS resources in an application module
To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
