Configure candidate servers for Transaction Recovery Service migration

To enable migration of the Transaction Recovery Service from one server in a cluster to another server in the cluster, you must specify the list of candidate server that have access to the current server's transaction log files (stored in the default WebLogic store). For more information about migrating the Transaction Recovery Service, see Transaction Recovery After a Server Fails.

To configure the list of candidate servers for Transaction Recovery Service migration:

If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
In the Domain Structure tree, expand Environment, then select Clusters.
Select the cluster that contains the server you want to modify.
Click the Configuration > Servers tab and then select the server you want to modify.
Select the Configuration > Migration tab.
In JTA Candidate Servers, select the servers you want to use as a Transaction Recovery Service backup and move them to the Chosen list.
Note: You must include the original server in the list of chosen servers so that you can manually migrate the Transaction Recovery Service back to the original server, if need be. The Administration Console enforces this rule.

Note: The servers you select must have access to the default persistent store for the current server, even in the event of a crash.
Click Save to save your changes.
To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
