Modify services, process groups, and instances


To modify services, process groups, and instances:

  1. Access the Services page in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Inventory tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click the name of the Service in the Inventory pane.
    • Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar, click Services under Manage Inventory, and click the name of the service in the Services table.
  2. Click the General tab on the Service page.
  3. Perform one or more of the following tasks, as required.
    Task Description

    Modify the general properties of the service, as required.

    Modify the general property fields. For more information, see Define general properties for a service. You cannot modify the service name or status. Click Save to save your changes. The general properites are updated and the following confirmation message is displayed:

    Settings updated successfully

    Define additional process groups.

    Click Add More Process Groups. For information about the completing the fields, see Define process groups for a service.

    Define, remove, or move JVM instances for a process group.

    Select the check box next to the process group for which you want to modify the set of JVM instances in the Configured Process Groups table and click Add More JVMs to Process Group. Perform one of the following tasks:

    • To define additional JVM instances, click Add JVM. For information about completing the fields, see the description for "Start from Scratch" in Define process groups for a service.

    • To delete JVM instances, click Remove JVM.

    • To move a JVM instance to another process group, select Move JVM. Select the service to which you want to move the process from the drop-down list and click Finish.

    Modify the properties for a JVM instance.

    Click the name of the JVM instance that you want to modify in the Configured Process Groups table. You cannot modify the name of the process instance or JVM instance. For more information about the fields, see the description for "Start from Scratch" in Define process groups for a service.

    Clone a process group or JVM instance.

    Select the check box next to the process group or JVM instance that you want to clone in the Configured Process Groups table and click Clone. The process group or JVM instance is cloned. You can modify the cloned process group or JVM instance further or click Finish. The following confirmation message is displayed:

    New process created successfully

    Delete process groups or JVM instances

    Select the check box next to the process groups or JVM instances that you want to delete and click Delete. The components are deleted and the following confirmation message is displayed:

    Processes deleted successfully
