Add readers


There are many RFID readers from different companies that differ in configuration and setup. The properties required to configure a type of reader differs based on the driver of the reader.

To add a new physical reader to the selected Edge Server:

  1. In the left pane of the Console, expand the node for an Edge Server and click Readers.
  2. Click New.
  3. From the drop-down list, select the Reader Type and click Next.
  4. On the Reader Properties page, fill in values for the reader-specific properties shown.

    Properties that must be filled in display an asterisk (*) to the right of the field. Consult the RFID Reader Reference or manufacturer’s manual for your reader for more information on these properties and their allowable values.

  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Result

The new reader is added to the Edge Server.
